Brandeis IBS hosted its first alumni event in Istanbul, Turkey on January 5. Assistant Professor of Economics Can Erbil and Assistant Professor of Finance Elif Sisli Ciamara had cocktails and dinner with 15 alums to discuss developments taking place at the business school as well as introduce the new Hassenfeld Fellow Overseas Immersion Program. The program is a week-long, in-country experience available to first year IBS students and will give participants an intensive introduction to the business and economy of Turkey. Professor Erbil will return to Istanbul in May 2011 with 30 IBS students and looks forward to seeing Brandeis alums again.
