Raja Roy MBA ’13 connects athletes with local coaches

Roy (middle of the first picture, left side of the second) spent the last few months as the Product Marketing Intern at CoachUp.

Raja Roy MBA ’13 stayed a bit closer to Brandeis IBS, working at CoachUp, a Boston-based startup that connects athletes with private coaches. CoachUp had yet to launch when he joined the team, but the site has since signed up more than 3,500 coaches. As the Product Marketing Intern, Roy helped design the company’s go-to-market strategy and an efficient, easy-to-use system for both customers and coaches. “Being in a startup environment not only helps you to learn hands-on skills but also provides you with market reactions instantly,” he said.

Roy comes from a technology background, but said that the internship expanded his interest in marketing and has spurred him to now take advantage of Brandeis IBS' new specialization in marketing starting this fall.
