Brandeis IBS to compete in Global Case Challenge Feb. 24-25

Brandeis International Business School has been accepted from a pool of more than 4,000 applicants to compete in the third annual Hult Global Case Challenge (GCC) – an initiative that brings together top students from all over the globe to generate solutions to the world’s most pressing social challenges.

This year's event focuses on breaking the cycle of global poverty through developing sustainable solutions that will provide affordable housing, affordable energy, and affordable education to the bottom of the pyramid. $1 million in seed capital is made available annually to provide funding to pilot the very best ideas.

Trevor Sweeney MSF '12, Liliana Diaconu MBA '13 and Sam Mkandawire MBA '13 comprise the Brandeis IBS team.

The regional competitions will take place February 24 and 25, 2012. Among the other schools participating in the Boston-area event are Dartmouth, Duke, Johns Hopkins and MIT. All regional winners will be flown to New York City for the final competition on April 26, 2012. Every finalist will receive the opportunity to meet and have photos taken with President Bill Clinton, who will serve as the keynote speaker and present the winning team with the award.

The event is the world’s largest case competition featuring thousands of students competing from over 100 countries. $1 million in seed capital is made available annually to provide funding to pilot the best ideas. More information is available at the Hult GCC's website, Facebook page and Twitter page.
