“Ten years after the establishment of the Carolyn Shaw Bell Award there are now many distinguished women economists. But it was pioneers like Anne Carter who paved the way for later generations of women in economics,” said Rachel McCulloch, Rosen Family Professor of International Finance and Chair, Department of Economics at Brandeis.

 At Brandeis, Professor Carter teaches courses on technological and economic change and on work in the global business environment. A former dean of the faculty at Brandeis, she has also taught at Harvard University, Brooklyn College, and Smith College.  She holds a Ph.D. from Harvard University.
