As co-chairman of the NASULGC-Sloan National Commission on
Online Learning, IBS Dean Bruce R. Magid is helping to shape the national dialogue on the use of technology in the classroom.

Dean Magid recently shared the panel's vision for online learning at the American Council on Education's Annual Meeting held this February. Key findings included the following:
- The panel views online learning as a critical means of expanding access to higher education
- Growth in online enrollments is promising, having averaged more than 21% per year over the past five years
- Online learning connects institutions to the global community, especially by attracting students outside their traditional service areas
Moving forward, a goal of the panel is to begin the process of identifying some of the key factors that lead to successful online programs at public colleges and universities.
