Yahoo Financial: Excellent source of free information on companies and markets. Just type in company name or ticker and browse database of financials, news articles, and charts. Worth spending some time to understand what is available here, as a lot is hidden.

SEC Data: EDGAR, the Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval system, performs automated collection, validation, indexing, acceptance, and forwarding of submissions by companies and others who are required by law to file forms with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Wall Street Journal Online: Current news and lots of other free content (including Annual Report downloads; see left menu bar). Signing up for additional content at student rate is a good investment – it enables article searches 30 days back and access to an excellent database of company news and financials.
