Yahoo Financial: Excellent source of free information on companies and markets. Just type in company name or ticker and browse database of financials, news articles, and charts. Worth spending some time to understand what is available here, as a lot is hidden.
SEC Data: EDGAR, the Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval system, performs automated collection, validation, indexing, acceptance, and forwarding of submissions by companies and others who are required by law to file forms with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Wall Street Journal Online: Current news and lots of other free content (including Annual Report downloads; see left menu bar). Signing up for additional content at student rate is a good investment – it enables article searches 30 days back and access to an excellent database of company news and financials.
Business Week: Free registration gives you access to archive of articles going back to 1991, as well as email newsletters. Subscription is required to view the current issues of the magazine; student rates are available.
Fortune: Free access to archive of articles, as well as email newsletters. Fortune is a great source for lists of companies, including the well-known “Fortune 500” list of top US companies.
Forbes: Free access to archive of articles, as well as email newsletters.
New York Times: Register for free newsletter with current news, customizable to report articles on keywords and company names that you specify. A great way to keep up with news on certain topics. Archived articles that appeared in last 7 days are free; others are available at cost.

HBS Working Knowledge: Email newsletter and repository of book reviews, website recommendations, short articles, and other items useful in understanding business and management. Emphasis on work of HBS professors. Much information available free and without registration; links to full articles and books that are available for purchase.

Sloan Management Review: Search abstracts of SMR articles since 1993. No electronic purchasing available.
FindArticles.com: Free online database of journal articles, including of Administrative Science Quarterly and Academy of Management Review, two leading journals on business management.
