The following is a list of some of the external scholarship resources students might draw on to help fund their studies at Brandeis. It is not comprehensive, but gives an idea of the main programs that are available. Click on the links below to go to the resources you are interested in.


Graduate Merit Scholarship for African Americans
The Graduate Merit Scholarship will be awarded by IBS in partnership with the National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA). It will be given to an outstanding African American student, who is either a US citizen or a permanent resident in the United States and is a member of the NBMBAA.
The successful candidate will be chosen on the basis of their ability to make a significant contribution both to the International Business School and to the National Black MBA Association. The quality of their work experience, their educational record, their demonstrated leadership skills, their service to NBMBAA, and their activities outside the classroom, will all be taken into account as their suitability for this prestigious award is judged.

The Graduate Merit Scholarship will be awarded by IBS in partnership with the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA). It will be given to an outstanding Hispanic American student, who is either a US citizen or a permanent resident in the United States and is a member of the NSHMBA.
The successful candidate will be chosen on the basis of their ability to make a significant contribution both to the International Business School and to the National Society of Hispanic MBAs. The quality of their work experience, their educational record, their demonstrated leadership skills, their service to NSHMBA, and their activities outside the classroom, will all be taken into account as their suitability for this prestigious award is judged.

AMIDEAST Cyprus-America Scholarship Program (CASP)
The Cyprus-America Scholarship Program (CASP) is a human resource development program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and administered in the U.S. by AMIDEAST on behalf of the Cyprus Fulbright Commission. CASP's mission is to assist in the economic and social development of Cyprus through higher education, short-term technical training, and bicommunal workshops. In carrying out its mission, CASP works with both the Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot communities.

AMIDEAST Israeli-Arab Scholarship Program (IASP)
The Israeli-Arab Scholarship Program (IASP) was established by the Congress of the United States in 1991 to provide educational opportunities in the United States for Israeli Arabs. The program is sponsored by the United States Department of State and administered by AMIDEAST. Since 1991, over fifty students have received grants for a maximum of two years of study at U.S. institutions in a wide range of fields including family therapy, social work, law, linguistics, and political science. Those interested in continuing their studies at the Ph.D. level seek teaching assistantships, research assistantships and other scholarships.

AMIDEAST Other Scholarship Programs
AMIDEAST administers a number of private, institutional, and non-U.S. government scholarship programs for students and professionals from the Middle East and North Africa, most of which are for study at U.S. universities. AMIDEAST is an attentive administrator of private scholarship projects. Our staff adapts program services to the specific requirements of each scholarship sponsor, and provides one-on-one advising to students undertaking the adventure of academic study and training in the U.S.

Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellowship
The Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellowship program provides citizens of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan with the opportunity to pursue graduate study at the master's level in the United States. Students are chosen in the fields of business administration, economics, education, environmental management and policy, international affairs, journalism and mass communications, law, library and information science, public administration, public health, and public policy.
The program provides full scholarships to participants, including university tuition, fees, room, board, health insurance, monthly stipend, book allowance, and international and domestic travel.

FORD FOUNDATION International Fellowships Program
The Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program (IFP) provides opportunities for advanced study to exceptional individuals who will use this education to become leaders in their respective fields, furthering development in their own countries and greater economic and social justice worldwide. To ensure that Fellows are drawn from diverse backgrounds, IFP actively seeks candidates from social groups and communities that lack systematic access to higher education.

Global Student Loan
The Global Student Loan Corporation offers loans that do not require a co-signer in the host country. It partners with financial institutions globally to provide loan programs that meet students' special needs. In addition to covering tuition, the Global Student Loan provides funding for other school essentials such as computers, insurance, communications, travel, and housing.

IIE Fulbright Program for Non-US Students
Fulbright Program for Non-U.S. Students General Information The Fulbright Program is a world leader in international educational exchange. The goal of the Program is to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries through educational exchange.

IIE Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program
Fellowships are granted competitively to professional candidates with a commitment to public service in both the public and private sectors, especially in the fields of natural resources and environmental management; public policy analysis and public administration; economic development; agricultural development/agricultural economics; finance and banking; human resource management/personnel; urban and regional planning; public health policy and management; technology policy and management; educational planning; communications/journalism; drug abuse education, prevention and treatment; and law, civil society, human rights, and democratic development.

Joint Japan/ World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP)
The Joint Japan/ World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP), is in its 17th year. The Program awards scholarships to individuals from World Bank member countries to undertake graduate studies at universities renowned for their development research and teaching.

LASPAU OAS-Placed Graduate Scholarship Program
In December 2001, the Organization of American States (OAS) signed a new partnership agreement with LASPAU. The two organizations are working together to increase opportunities for graduate studies and research through the expansion of the OAS scholarships program. The new collaboration-formed to increase the numbers of grants available as well as to expand access to these grants-adds flexibility to the OAS scholarship program and to its commitment to address OAS priority development areas through academic exchange.

Open Society Institute, Soros Foundations Network
The Open Society Institute (OSI) is a private operating and grantmaking foundation based in New York City that serves as the hub of the Soros foundations network, a group of autonomous foundations and organizations in more than 50 countries. OSI and the network implement a range of initiatives that aim to promote open societies by shaping government policy and supporting education, media, public health, and human and women's rights, as well as social, legal, and economic reform.
OSI initiatives award grants, scholarships, and fellowships on a regular basis throughout the year.
