Annual Giving at Brandeis International Business School

This past year proved to be an incredibly exciting and successful one for Brandeis International Business School. Thanks to the contributions of alumni like you, we graduated 185 students from 48 countries and were able to give financial aid to a significant portion of our student body. In these unstable economic times, it is a testament to your generosity and commitment to the school that we had the capacity to provide so many students with access to a world-class business education.

In total, 230 alumni showed their support and gave back, largely through strong participation with the Amy Kessler ’89, ’90 MA Challenge. The school established two new scholarship funds: The Robert Sherman Memorial Fellowship Fund, which provides financial aid to students from single-parent households, and the Steven Rapaporte Trustman Opportunities Fund, which provides support for students pursuing unpaid internships in the non-profit sector. Alumni contributed over $60,000 to the school, including the Brandeis IBS Annual Fund, the Peter Petri Global Fellowship Fund and the Dean’s Strategic Initiatives Fund. Your support and enthusiasm for your alma mater has been truly overwhelming!

Record numbers of graduates re-connected at alumni events in Boston, New York City, London, Paris, Istanbul, Beijing and Hong Kong. A “Faculty in the Field” event led by Ed Bayone, the Earle W. Kazis ’55 Professor of the Practice of Finance and International Real Estate, was one of the most successful gatherings of its kind this year. Alumni also stayed in touch with us through Facebook and Twitter and gave us regular updates on their latest plans and accomplishments.

The entire Brandeis IBS community would like to thank all alumni and friends who graciously donated their time and resources to the school this year. We greatly appreciate your involvement, and look forward to seeing you again on-campus or at a future alumni gathering. Plans are already underway to make 2012 a great year filled with events throughout the United States, Asia, Europe and beyond. We hope that you will stay connected with us in the coming months.

From all of us at the Brandeis International Business School, have a wonderful rest of the summer!

Mark Goldberger

Mark Goldberger, MBA ’09 on why he supports Brandeis IBS
"Receiving an academic scholarship from IBS meant that I could afford to go to business school.
As an IBS alum, I feel it is my duty to give a little back, so that future students can experience what
I did. I truly believe I received a valuable education, unlike anywhere else in the country. At IBS I
formed lifelong friendships with classmates from around the world, and at IBS I learned how to be
a better businessman and leader. I want to offer future students the same opportunity that I had, to
learn and grow in an amazing environment. Donating to IBS is the least I can do."
