Export Financing 101
Trade finance experts will take us through the basics of trade finance -- letters of credit, banker acceptances and foreign exchange strategies. They will explore the role of confirming banking institutions, bi-lateral sales contracts, and the role of government export-import institutions. After establishing the basics of trade finance, the panel will examine more complex multi-party agreements where traded goods come from many countries and involve a multiple set of counter parties. Understanding the risks, tracking the financial exposure, and monitoring the transactions involves a sophisticated understanding of global trade and the motivations of the parties involved.

Panelists:
- Bruce Drossman, Export Finance Manager, Export-Import Bank of the United States
