Intellectual Depth

At Brandeis International Business School (IBS), you’ll benefit from our intellectual depth, reaching new levels of understanding in fields that are vital for cross-border success.

This happens through our teaching, faculty, events, and corporate network. Business leaders across all sectors of the economy often visit the school to teach courses and provide students with direct opportunities to learn about best practices.

Our faculty are thought leaders in their fields who conduct rigorous research and spearhead disciplines of academic scholarship like cross-cultural fluency and microfinance.

Our professors include:

  • George Hall, who is collaborating with 2011 Nobel Prize winner Tom Sargent on a book investigating the history of US debt.
  • Judith Dean, who has testified before the Senate on topics of US/China trade, and whose current research focuses on supply chains in Asia.
  • Blake LeBaron, whose research on agent-based financial models recently received a $34K grant from the Institute for New Economic Thinking (INET).
  • Andrew Molinsky, an authority on cross-cultural business who has been featured in the Economist, the Financial Times, NPR and other outlets.
  • Debarshi Nandy, who has presented at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) on how increased access to financing affects firm productivity.
