Projects for Peace

Margot MoinesterCongratulations to Margot Moinester '09, winner of a $10,000 Davis Projects for Peace grant. Moinester, a 2007 Ethics Center Student Fellow at Brandeis, proposed a sewing cooperative project that will enable Rwandan to support themselves and their families while battling HIV/AIDS and in aftermath of violence. She will join her partner Susan Younger, a textile artist and student at the Memphis College of Art, in traveling to Rwanda this summer.

In its second year, Davis Projects for Peace honors philanthropist Kathryn Wasserman Davis, who launched the initiative on the occasion of her 100th birthday in 2007. Last year, Brandeis student Jefferson Arak won a grant to set up a media lab in Mexico.
