Deanne Taylor, PhD is an assistant professor in the Ob/Gyn/RE department at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and an adjunct faculty member in the Genetics Department at Rutgers University. She studies mechanisms of aneuploidy and metabolic systems in embryos. She is also interested in studying the evolution of complex systems using mathematical models coupled with genomic data. In the past, she was the Executive Director of the Bioinformatics Core at Harvard School of Public Health, and before that, she was a Bioinformatics Principal Investigator at EMD-Serono, one of the world's largest biotechnology companies. She has been part of the Brandeis Continuing Studies Department since 2001, and served as its Program Director between 2006-2008. At Brandeis and elsewhere, she has taught classes in Biochemistry, Nucleic Acids, Microarrays, Systems Biology, statistics and programming. She keeps a blog called Confluxion at http://www.confluxion.org/ and is involved in promoting discussions on science by developing a scientific journal discussion website at http://www.sciters.com/
