Frequently Asked Questions
How do your services differ from training?
We do not offer "training" in the traditional sense. Traditional training presents employees with a high volume of information over a short period of time, usually during regular working hours. While this method may be worthwhile to address specific short-term needs, it does not provide sufficient time for the delivery of comprehensive information, assimilation of information, the introduction of robust group projects and exercises, or the necessary foundation for long-term performance improvement.
GPS courses are designed to engage students with relevant and current concepts through extensive student/instructor/group interaction. Students are required to complete assignments between class sessions.
Each course contains evaluation and performance tools including quizzes, case study projects, individual and group project work, and/or a final exam. These processes ensure student assimilation of the material, a benefit for the student and the organization.
My team needs a specific course. Is it possible to select individual courses?
Yes. Although some courses have prerequisites, an organization can choose individual courses based on its specific needs.
Do you offer not-for-credit courses?
No. All our courses are accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
The cost per employee is aligned with our tuition rate. Books are approximately $100 per employee per course. Term registration fees are waived for corporate clients. Discounts are available based on volume. [top]
Do employees have to pay individually?
No. GPS will provide corporate clients with a single itemized invoice for each term period covering all on-site and online courses. This should not be confused with students utilizing employer reimbursement benefits and attending courses individually. [top]
Can courses completed on-site or via a private online offering apply toward a master's degree should an employee choose to pursue it?
Yes. University academic standards are maintained in each corporate course to retain graduate credit. Courses may be applied to a master's degree, contingent upon a student's acceptance into a degree program. [top]
How do your courses compare to that of other universities or training providers?
In addition to the differences described above, our courses are designed around predictable outcomes. You will know exactly what your employees will be able to do upon completion of a course. Many employees comment that they use course lessons and concepts immediately on the job. [top]
How do you ensure your program content is up to date and relevant?
We hire only instructors that work in industry. In addition, we convene advisory councils made up of senior managers from many well-known organizations. These advisory council members review our content and suggest additions and updates. [top]
