Special Topics in Virtual Management

The field of management in virtual environments continually evolves. Legal, ethical, cultural, and regulatory habits and practices around the world are subject to rapid and potentially wide-reaching change. New technologies are introduced to foster improved collaboration and coordination among virtual teams. Techniques needed by managers to succeed in a virtual and worldwide marketplace must be expanded as one leads projects in various parts of the globe.

This Virtual Management Special Topics course facilitates the introduction of cutting-edge practices and communication technologies as they are introduced in the industry. It also supports the coverage of cultural, legal, and regulatory issues of practical relevance to particular regions of the world.
Outcomes will vary by course, but in general terms, students will be able to:

Apply novel management, technology, communication, and negotiation practices specific to the course.
Place concepts introduced in the course into the context of one’s organization and the existing suite of standards and practices employed.
