The Graduate Student Association (GSA) is currently accepting APPLICATIONS for coordinators for the 2008-2009 Graduate Student Association. Descriptions of available positions are highlighted below: Social & Recreation Coordinators and Web & Communications Coordinator. Social and Recreational Coordinators
The purpose of the Social/Recreational Coordinator is to build community within the graduate student population. The Social and Recreational Coordinators are required to establish a schedule of social and recreational events for the year, including TGIFs, fall kayaking trip, movie nights, February break ski trip, and other social opportunities for graduate student, to bring together different segments of the graduate population, and further strengthen a sense of community across the three graduate schools. In addition, the Social Coordinators should help get information out at the beginning of each semester about intramural sports opportunities for grads. The Coordinators work closely with the Office of Graduate Student Affairs for all social and recreational programming.
They need to be responsible, outgoing people who can work under time constraints and complete tasks independently. They are responsible for providing the Web and Communications Coordinator with event announcements, leaving sufficient time to have them posted on the GSA website.

Web & Communications Coordinator
The Web and Communications Coordinator records the proceedings of all meetings of the Executive Committee and the Senate, and posts the minutes on the GSA website within 3 days of the meeting. S/He maintains a file of the minutes during their term and then passes them on to the next Web and Communications Coordinator or the President. If this Officer cannot attend a GSA Executive Committee or Senate meeting, s/he assigns one of the other officers who will be present to take meeting minutes in his/her place. This officer maintains and updates the GSA website on a weekly basis.
