Graduate students in the biological sciences who are supported off NIH grants or HHMI funds are forbidden, by grant restrictions, to take up any additional paying work.
Dissertation Year Fellowship
This fellowship provides an academic year’s funding to enable uninterrupted work to complete a dissertation for students in the Humanities and Social Sciences. Up to six fellowships are awarded each year. Awards are restricted to doctoral candidates who have completed all requirements other than the dissertation; the Registrar must certify that the candidate has ABD status (all but dissertation). Please check this site in early February 2009 for application materials for the 2009-2010 academic year. The application deadline will be in March 2009.
