The Graduate Student Center in Kutz Hall received a dramatic makeover this summer. In addition to carpeting and fresh coat of paint, the space now contains a 55” HDTV, five iMacs, a small kitchen, a conference room, discounted printing, lockers, and complementary tea and coffee. You can almost always find students hanging out in the lounge, which is open every weekday from 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.

“We really wanted to rejuvenate the Center this year,” said Steven Weglinski, Senior Coordinator of Graduate Student Affairs. “The space was created to provide graduate students an area to study and socialize on campus, and we are seeing a lot more people taking advantage of the Center since the renovation.” Many students come to work on projects or study between classes, but some come to enjoy the cable TV and movies. "There is also a free breakfast every Tuesday morning," says Weglinski. "It has become very popular with students!"

There is more to the Center than just TVs and computers though. The Graduate Student Association is hosting a series of gatherings throughout the school year. “There are lots of upcoming events for grad students, including pumpkin carving and a fall foliage hike!” says Weglinski. Students can stop by to find out what’s going on and keep track of all upcoming activities on the GSA website.
