Yes, JDate might be the most well known online dating site for Jews out there. But it's certainly not the only one. Below are some other services you might want to check out if your New Year's resolution was to try new ways to find a nice, (hot), Jewish soulmate. We can't vouch for them, but we can at least list them.

  • And if you find him/her, here are some books you might want to explore to stay on track:

What to Do When You're Dating a Jew: Everything You Need to Know from Matzah Balls to Marriage (Paperback) by Vikki Weiss and Jennifer A. Block (Three Rivers Press, 2000).

"Learn everyhing you need to know about the holidays, traditions, beliefs, and culture of the Jew you love... and his or her family. From what to order in a kosher deli to what to wear to a Purim party, this book answers all the questions you'll face as the love interest of a nice Jewish boy or girl."

Single Jewish Female: A Modern Guide to Sex and Dating by Leah Furman (Perigree Trade, 2004).

"In Single Jewish Female, dating expert Leah Furman gives frank advice on what it means to be Jewish in today's singles scene. Discussing everything from traditional marriage to sex on the wilder side."

If it works out, mazel tov! And if not, try:

Chicken Soup for the Jewish Soul: 101 Stories to Open the Heart and Rekindle the Spirit by Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen and Dov Elkins (HCI, 2001).

"The 86 stories in this delightful book deal with the themes of life, being a Jew, love and kindness, humanity, family, the Holocaust, insights and lessons, and wisdom. Authors include such notable writers as Bel Kaufman, Golda Meir, Harold Kushner, Lawrence Kushner, and Yaffa Eliach."
