614 Essay Contest
It wasn’t easy narrowing down the must-have books of the 21st century to only six selections. Our “staff picks” section could have gone on for pages. Was there one book you feel should have been mentioned? Write us 700 to 1000 words about the Jewish book written in the last seven years that changed how you feel about being a Jewish woman. If we choose your essay as our favorite, we’ll send you a copy of A World to Come, Black, White & Jewish, The Chosen, Expanding the Palace of Torah, An Unlikely Heroine: Esther Calingold's Fight for Jerusalem, and Rememberings: The World of a Russian-Jewish Woman in the Nineteenth Century. We’ll also post your essay in an upcoming issue of 614.
Instructions: Please attach your essay as a word document and also paste it in the body of the email. Type “614 Essay Contest” in the subject field and send to mcove@brandies.edu by April 6th. Good luck!
