Overview

The HBI offers outstanding scholars, writers and artists the opportunity to be in residence at the HBI at different points during the year. We also have an invitation-only Research Associate program to allow individuals whose work closely aligns with our mission to affiliate with the HBI.

The Helen Gartner Hammer Scholars-in-Residence Program is open to scholars working on any aspect of Jewish gender studies in order to devote time to their research. These residencies take place during the academic year and occasionally during the summer.

Our Research Associates are HBI affiliates who are actively engaged in research that supports the HBI mission. Research Associates may be in residence at the HBI or may maintain their affiliation while working elsewhere.
