2017 HBI Spring Seminar 

Seminar topic: Female Interpreters of Religious Law: Women's Leadership as Clergy, Educators, Advisors and Judges

Scholars working in any religious tradition whose work explores developments in women's religious leadership were invited to apply for this semester long residency. This program was directed by Lisa Fishbayn Joffe, director of the HBI Project on Gender, Culture, Religion and Law.


2016 HBI Spring Seminar 

Seminar topic: Fresh Voices: Jewish Women Writers from North America 

North American Jewish women writers of fiction, memoir and poetry, and international academics and scholars whose work analyzes these genres while exploring Jewishness and gender, were invited to apply to participate in the Hadassah-Brandeis Institute's three-month themed Spring Scholar-in-Residence Program on the topic of North American Jewish women's writing of fiction, memoir and poetry. This HBI residency program was directed by Prof. Sylvia Barack Fishman.
