For nearly a decade, the Hadassah-Brandeis Institute has been at the fore of the Jewish academic world, producing and promoting a unique range of scholarly and artistic works that encompasses the fields of sociology, history, psychology, anthropology, literature and the arts, with a focus on the exploration of Jewish gender and women’s studies. Our work, endowed by Hadassah and enabled by our founding donors and partners, is further made possible through the generous support of our constituent members and those vested in the field of Jewish women’s studies.
The effect of this support, and the meaning thereof to our work, is immeasurable. With each new work produced, book published, and art project realized, we approach a point in Jewish women’s history when social equality is the norm and religious parity is the standard.
As we approach our tenth year and embark on a capital campaign in celebration of that landmark, I take heart looking back on the now-long history of the Hadassah-Brandeis Institute, our humble beginnings at a time when Jewish women’s studies received virtually no attention, and our rise to establishment as one of the academy’s finest women’s research institutes. Having come this far, the knowledge that we are ever-rising to higher levels of academic success and expanding the network of Jewish women’s studies around the globe enthuses me all the more.
Your support will help us to continue our innovative programs and utilize the latest technologies to reach an audience more diverse than ever for participation in academic research. By providing financial backing for our Scholars-in-Residence programs, our conferences, various publications, and manifold artistic projects, you further ensure that the future of Jewish women internationally is as bright as ours.
