Welcome from the Nutritionist

What's the difference between a Nutritionist and a Registered Dietitian? An RD will always be considered a Nutritionist, but the reverse is not necessarily true. I have a degree in dietetics and did my internship at The Massachusetts General Hospital. I am also licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. My position on campus is that of Nutritionist; my credentials are those of a Registered Dietitian.

I'm here for you!

I meet with students by appointment for anything related to nutrition:

  • healthy eating on campus
  • food allergies and intolerances
  • managing your weight
  • nutrition therapy for medical conditions
  • sports nutrition
....to name a few. And the best part is, it's FREE!

I also provide nutrition information on the food offered in the dining halls and act as a liason between the students and Dining Services. Please come up and say hello when you see me in Sherman Dining Hall on Wednesdays and in Usdan on Thursdays during lunch. I'd be happy to answer any of your nutrition questions.

My nutrition philosophy is that there are no "good" or "bad" foods, it's how you put them together that determines whether or not your diet is healthy. All foods, then, can be part of a healthy diet. I advocate and counsel using an intuitive eating approach that is based on awareness of hunger and respect for fullness rather than an externally-imposed diet restriction. Balanced eating should result in feelings of satisfaction along with improved mental and physical performance.

I look forward to meeting you either in my office at the Health Center (call x63677 to make an appointment), or elsewhere on campus. You can reach me at x63696 or at logara@brandeis.edu.
