Online Identity
Unflattering personal information drifting around the Internet, known by some as "digital dirt," can doom a job search before it even gets started. You should know that recruiters can, and often do, read much of what's posted about you on the Web. You may think that information on social networking sites is private, but these are in many ways publicly-accessible forums. What recruiters read about you can play a role in evaluating you as a potential hire.

If you have already posted text, photographs or other material on the Web, you may wish to explore how you can limit access to or remove information that you may not want to remain public.
