To Access CAN
1. Log in to B Connect. For log in help, call (781) 736-4100.
2. Click on "Career Services" in the left navigation.
3. Click on "Brandeis Career Advisory Network."
To Create/Update Your CAN Profile
1. From the CAN homepage, click on "Manage Your Advisor Profile."
2. Complete/update your profile. Fields marked with a * are required.
To Opt Out/Hide Your Profile
1. From the CAN homepage, click on "Manage Your Advisor Profile."
2. In the black bar next to Profile Status, click on "Click to Update."
3. Change your profile status from "Active" to "Inactive Until Further Notice." You can re-activate your profile at any time.
4. Click on "Update." Your profile will no longer be viewable in CAN.
Brandeis Career Advisory Network (CAN)
A sense of community has long been a hallmark and point of pride of the Brandeis experience. Our history of helping one another has become inherent in the fabric of what it means to be a Brandeisian. These attributes make the 40,000 members of the Brandeis community an invaluable networking resource for alumni and students alike. Brandeis alumni possess a rich array of experiences and expertise and can offer incredible insights and real world guidance to those pursuing similar career paths.
With this spirit in mind, the Brandeis Alumni Association and the Hiatt Career Center are excited to partner on a new initiative to strengthen the Brandeis alumni network by empowering alumni and students to connect with one another for career-related advice, tips and support through Brandeis’ own version of LinkedIn.
Through the newly updated Career Advisory Network (CAN) feature of our B Connect online alumni community, Brandeis alumni will be able to 1) search for and connect with fellow alumni in any field imaginable for career guidance, and 2) respond to requests for personalized career advice from current students and alumni. To make it easier for alumni to get involved, all Brandeis alumni will be included in CAN as of May 30, 2013.
What does this mean for you?
Your name, employment information, and geographic location will be searchable by fellow Brandeis alumni and approved students. Your contact information will not appear in search results unless you allow it by changing your settings. The messages will be sent through CAN into your preferred inbox.
You may be contacted up to three times per month by Brandeis students and alumni who want to learn more about your job function, industry or employer. You can adjust the frequency of your availability in your profile settings.
You can customize your CAN profile. This online network is only as good as the information in it, so we encourage you to take a few minutes to update your profile/preferences to indicate: your most recent employment information, which career level(s) you are interested in hearing from, if you are willing to conduct informational interviews, how you want appear in search results, and more!
You can – though we hope you won’t – opt-out. If you do not want to be automatically listed in the CAN database, you can opt out by following the instructions in the right sidebar. Opting out will not impact your access to other B Connect services and functionality. If you change your mind, you can choose to opt-in or opt-out at any time.
