From our president
"If you are an alum, we are relying on you. Our future is very much in your hands. Find a way to connect or reconnect with your school. Mentor our students. Hire our graduates. You have rights as a member of this family, but you have responsibilities as well. Remember who you were when you were here and connect with that person, and with us."
President Lawrence
Inaugural Address, March 31, 2011

Subscribe to the Wisdom Wanted e-newsletter
Through the Hiatt Career Center's Wisdom Wanted pilot program, Brandeis students and young alumni write ads seeking career advice, insights and leads from Brandeis alumni volunteers like you. Ads span a range of topics, industries, and interest areas as diverse as the volunteers reading them. Sign up here to receive the quarterly Wisdom Wanted e-newsletter.
You can also browse and respond to current ads on the Wisdom Wanted blog. The posts are searchable by industry and keyword so you can find the ads most relevant to you!
When you want to respond to an ad, email the student directly and cc: wisdomwanted@brandeis.edu for tracking purposes. Tracking the responses will allow us to measure the effectiveness of this new program and ensure that everyone has received at least one response.

Whether you are part of the hiring process at your organization or not, you can help Brandeis make connections that may lead to internships or jobs for current students and fellow alumni. Email Cary Weir Lytle, Hiatt's associate director of employer relations, if you would like to see Brandeisians working at your company.

Host a workshop or information session at Hiatt
Talk to a small group of students about your organization, industry or job function in a more personalized, discussion-based setting at Hiatt. Fund a World of Work intern
Make a direct impact on a student’s educational experience by making a gift in support of the Hiatt Career Center’s World of Work (WOW) program.
WOW provides generous stipends for undergraduate students pursuing unpaid summer internships. Not only do the students gain valuable real-world work experience, they return to campus with a sharper career focus and a better appreciation for the types of skills and knowledge they will need after graduation.
By eliminating financial barriers, the WOW program enables students to explore career fields, gain new insights, and learn about the world of work. Students may work in any career field, domestic or abroad, for public, private, or non-profit organizations.
Learn more about the program and discover the impact that our students’ internship experiences have had on them by downloading this brochure (pdf) or visiting the World of Work Summer Internship Blog. If you would like more information about Hiatt’s World of Work program, please contact Joseph Du Pont, dean of the Hiatt Career Center, at (781) 736-3613.
