Brandeis Career Advisory Network launched on B Connect; alumni advisors sought
Together with the Hiatt Career Center, the Alumni Association has launched the new Brandeis Career Advisory Network, where alumni at all stages of their careers can tap invaluable resources. Whether you are fresh out of school and trying to land a first job or a seasoned professional exploring a mid-life career change, the Career Advisory Network offers a breadth of services to help.Alumni willing to serve as career advisors to fellow alumni and current students are needed. Alumni advisors help their alma mater while significantly expanding their own professional networks at the same time.
By logging on the B Connect and navigating to the B Careers page, alumni can become an advisor or search for advisors according to their profession or industry, geography, stage of career, class year, major, degrees earned, and more. Users can search job listings, internships, and other professional development opportunities. Those looking for employees and interns can post open positions and internships, plus search a database of Brandeis graduates’ resumes for the best possible candidates.
“Career services are always important to alumni,” said Joe DuPont, director of the Hiatt Career Center, which has conducted more than 800 in-person counseling sessions this past year, and run several career-related workshops and symposia across the country.
“In this economy and challenging job market, our alumni are looking for new ways to job hunt, to make career changes, to harness the power of social networking, and to weather the storm. We are pleased that we now have the breadth of services our alumni have been looking for, a full complement of staff with a wealth of experience in career services, and now the Brandeis Career Advisory Network, which will be invaluable to our alumni.”
