WOW Recipient Spotlights

"I am so honored to be the recipient of Brandeis' first Theater WOW Fellowship. In a world where the performing and creative arts are desperately seeking funding and financial support, I am grateful that the Hiatt Career Center has dedicated a fellowship towards theater arts. There is no subject about which I am more passionate than theater and I am so appreciative that this WOW was created to allow individuals like myself to pursue that passion."

"It's truly an honor to receive the WOW funding. The funding will allow me to completely dedicate my summer to my internship. I can now afford to go to different trainings and educational seminars at Walker that are offered outside of my work hours. These opportunities will provide me with skills and knowledge that would otherwise be unavailable to me. The WOW funding is bringing me that much closer to achieving my career goal of being a social worker for children."

The Walker School, Needham, MA

"Ultimately, I would like to pursue a career in non-profit work. The research and conference planning that I will do as part of my CHN internship will not only involve me in a wide range of current policy issues – especially
health care, which is the policy issue I most want to pursue – but by interacting with the Coalition's many
organizations, I will be exposed to the challenges faced by non-profit organizations devoted to solving problems that require consensus and collaboration among groups with overlapping yet not entirely compatible agendas."
