FastCompany named Founder/CEO of BrightHouse one of 100 people who will change the way the world thinks

joey reimanJoey Reiman ’75, P ’16, CEO and founder of BrightHouse, will return to campus on Thursday, February 9, to deliver the keynote address at the Hiatt Career Center’s second annual Communications Careers Forum and Networking Night.  Reiman’s keynote will focus on the power of a purpose-driven corporate identity and a purpose-inspired business strategy.

Named by FastCompany as one of 100 people who will change the way the world thinks, Reiman has been a pioneer since his early years. He recalls an experience while a Brandeis student that led him toward his current career.

“Professor Jerry Cohen wrote once on one of my papers, ‘Your hypothesis is preposterous, your research is spotty, your logic is flawed, but Joey, you can write.’ ”

Combining innovation, creativity and “ideation,” Reiman founded Atlanta-based BrightHouse in 1995 to “bring soul to the world of business.” Working with only one client at a time for a 10-week period, the firm doesn’t simply craft tactics and strategies like most agencies; rather, it creates a “Master Idea” that will “create commercial success through social value.”

BrightHouse operates on the notion that “visionary leaders demand ideas that improve public life, not just public perception,” and therefore advises clients in a manner that leaves the company purpose -- as well as profits -- skyrocketing. The firm’s clients have included Coca-Cola, Procter & Gamble, and McDonald’s.

“Whatever you love, there is your God,” Reiman advises current students looking to forge their own career paths. His love for creativity, focused business strategies and powerful marketing has led him to help pioneer an industry that had not existed previously.

Since graduating from Brandeis, Reiman has received more than 500 national and international awards, including the Cannes Lion and Corporate Marketing Leader of the Year. Driven by a personal vision, determination and a strong conviction to revolutionary thought, Reiman has changed the landscape of marketing and business.

Alumni, recruiters and other professionals representing more than 25 top advertising, communications, marketing and public relations agencies will join Reiman at the Communications Forum and Networking Night on Thursday, February 9, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Following the keynote, student attendees will participate in roundtable networking sessions with these representatives, including Marc Berliner ’95, vice president of Cone Inc.; Dan Locke ’02, senior financial analyst at Constant Contact; Aaron Finegold ’09, worldwide marketing strategy consultant at OgilvyOne; Mollie Warshaw ’09, digital iExcellence communications analyst at American Express; and Noor Narula ’10, marketing campaign analyst at Staples.
