Mike Wyzga, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Genzyme Corporation, will discuss what it takes to manage the finances of a world-class pharmaceutical manufacturing company. Mr. Wyzga will also provide an overview of career paths in finance.  This is an ideal opportunity for students interested in wall street and consulting to learn about biotech/pharmaceutical industry practice areas. Students are also encouraged to attend to explore dynamic careers in both the pharmaceutical industry and the field of corporate finance.  Following the event, there will be an opportunity to network with the CFO and other representatives from Genzyme including recruiters and alumni.   Light refreshments will also be provided.

About the speaker
Michael Wyzga is responsible for global financial reporting for Genzyme Corporation, a company with 2008 revenues of $4.6 billion, and more than 11,000 employees and helping patients in 40 countries.  Mr. Wyzga joined Genzyme in 1998, and directs a staff of more than 600.  Mr. Wyzga has more than 20 years of senior financial management experience in the high technology industry. He has extensive experience in international finance and strategic planning as well as experience in conducting corporate mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Wyzga received an M.B.A. from Providence College in Providence, RI, and a B.S. in business administration from Suffolk University in Boston.
