Hiatt and Pre-Health Advising, Society launch Students Interested in Surgery (SIS)

Are you interested in exploring what a career in the surgical field entails? Curious about the different career paths that surgery has to offer? The Hiatt Career Center, Brandeis Office of Pre-Health Advising and the Pre-Health Society have partnered to offer you three unique opportunities to gain experience with careers in surgery, including:*
Surgery 101: 1-2 week experience shadowing a surgeon
Summer Observation: 4-8 week summer observation, with time length mutually agreed upon by student and surgeon
Research Project: 6-8 week research project
*Note: Opportunities are available in 16 cities across the US.
Interested students should log onto B.hired > Brandeis Jobs > Interviews to apply by Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at 5 p.m.
Eligibility/Participation
All Brandeis undergraduate students are eligible to apply. To receive full consideration, candidates must complete and upload the following documents into B.hired before the deadline:
- Application Form/Essay Responses (Other Document Category)
- Resume
- Unofficial Transcript
The goal is to provide all students interested in surgery with a worthwhile experience. Student participation will be evaluated on a variety of factors, with special emphasis being placed upon the resume and responses to the essay questions. Students will be notified of matches in mid-March.
