CareerSearch is a database that you can log onto from JAMIN. It includes company descriptions, profiles, contact information, and web addresses. You can sort employers by industry, location, and keywords.

  • What is CareerSearch? CareerSearch is a database of nearly 1,500,000 employers nationwide covering a wide spectrum of industries. The database includes company descriptions, profiles, contact names, titles, phone numbers, and web addresses.
  • How can CareerSearch help me?CareerSearch can be used to generate a list of potential employers. You can sort employers by industry, location, and keywords. For example, if you are interested in companies that deal with biotechnology, you could enter biotechnology in the description field in order to locate all companies that reference the word biotechnology in their descriptive text.
  • What do I need to know about navigating CareerSearch? It is strongly recommended that all users take 5 minutes to visit the help section and use the sample search provided. This is a helpful tutorial that will assist you with navigating the program. If you get stuck while navigating through CareerSearch, here are a few tips. Click on the "OK", "Get Results" or "Back to Criteria" button. Use the back arrow of your web browser to return to the CareerSearch homepage.

General Internet Jobs Resources

  • MonsterTrak.com - The Hiatt Career Center provides full-time, part-time and temporary (including work study, posted by the Office of Student Employment) opportunities targeted by employers to Brandeis students. Jobs are input by Hiatt staff and student employment staff on MonsterTrak. On-campus students can access MonsterTrak directly. Off-campus undergraduate students can call the Hiatt Career Center at 781-736-3618 for a password.
  • Spotlight on Careers - This resource offers great information and links by industry. Written by Career Professionals at Liberal Arts Colleges around the country. Access to this site from computers on campus is automatic, requiring no log-in. Please contact Hiatt at 781-736-3618 with questions about off-campus access.
  • Wet Feet - Career and company research and job postings 
  • Job Web - Career Developmnet, Job-Search, Advice for New College Graduates 
  • Job Bank - links 2,000 state Employment Service offices and contains approximately 100,000 job listings. The job openings come from all over the country and represent all types of work. 
  • New York Regional Association of Grantmakers (Jobs Circular) - The Jobs Circular is a listing of job openings with NYRAG member organizations. New job listings are posted on the 15th of every month. Most of these openings are located in New York City. NYRAG also provides free career workshops and other career resource links on their site
  • GraduateJobs.com : The Hiatt Career Center subscribes to the The National Employment Bulletin for the Liberal Arts Professions: Includes current jobs in : Art, Education, International, Liberal Arts, Management & Business , Writing, Editing & Communications , Performing Arts. For UserID and Password students can call the Hiatt Career Center at 781-736-3618.
