Program expectations
- This is an opportunity for students to develop career-related knowledge, skills, and values from direct experience - observing and networking with a professional in the field.
- Students use the experience gained from YOU to complement their academic learning and start making decisions about their career futures.
- One-time commitment - though preferrably you will stay in touch with your matched student after the initial visit.
- Volunteer your time for at least half a day, but preferrably a full day to host.
- Be available during June 2008.
- Be able to host a student on a day when he/she can observe you work and ask questions.
Suggested activities:
- Student sits in on your meetings/appointments/conversations
- Discuss your career path
- Offer career advice for the student
- Meeting/speaking with your colleagues

Timeline
- Hiatt Shadowing Experience takes place during January and June months - when the students are on break.
- Hiatt staff are currently recruiting Shadowing Sponsors for Summer 2008 Experience in Boston, New York City, Los Angeles, and Washington DC metro areas.
- In order to successfully match students for the January Experience, we need to have your information by March 14 at the absolute latest, but preferrably earlier.
- The students will have a chance to sign up until April 4.
- We will then run a series of pre-departure workshops and match the students.
- You will learn of your match on April 28.
- The Shadowing & Networking Experience will take place during June 2008.
Staying Involved

- Register yourself as a Mentor in our JAMIN database and avail yourself for contact to our students.
