The application for the Summer 2009 Experience is open.
The program is competitive - you must complete the necessary steps in order to be matched:
- Optional: Attend Info session (see below)
- Mandatory: Complete on-line application
- Mandatory: Work with Hiatt Carrer Center counselors to submit an approved resume into the resume book
- Mandatory: Attend pre-departure workshop (see below)

- You will rank Shadowing Sponsors based on your interest. The list of available Sponsors is available here.
- This list is organized by location, then by industry. Notice you can also sort by organization, major, availability, and other variables.
- Rank yourchoices using the red numbers.
- Also, you will let us know of your industry preferences in case your first choices are not available.
- You must demonstrate you have researched the industry of choice - you can start here for suggestions.
Resumes
- Never made a resume? Make one using our OptimalResume software.
- Made a resume before? Get it checked out during our Drop-in hours: MWThF 2-4:30pm, T 5-7pm.
- You've worked with Hiatt before? Great! Now make sure that the counselor you worked with submits your resume into the Shadowing Resume Book. You cannot be matched until your resume is in the Book.
Timeline
Hiatt Shadowing Experience & Alumni Networking takes place during winter and summer breaks. Specifics for the Summer 2009 Experience:
- Application is open now, but the final list of alumni will be available March 20
- Applications are due March 27, 2009
- Resumes are due by April 17, 2009
- Mandatory Pre-Departure Sessions take place April 1 - April 6, 2009
- Shadowing takes place during June 2009
