Finding my place in the world :  Implement Marketing Plan, Job Search

1. __ Revisit and update your "Ideal Job Profile" - consider whether you still have the same career focus.

2. __ Identify industry, location and other criteria you have for employers.

3. __ Identify target employers and ideal jobs

4. __ Research target employers thoroughly through internet and determine best strategy for contact: timing, networking, mailing, program, etc.

5. __ Develop your three selling points for target employers and rewrite resume and cover letter to highlight those.

6. __ Network. Tell everyone you know about your goal and "talk it up" to: Hiatt, faculty, advisors, friends, and family.

7. __ Prepare yourself for job interviews: strategy, attire, grooming, mock and informational interviews.

8. __ Initiate and maintain contact with target employers. Always behave professionally and ethically.

    9.   __ Persist, follow-up. Talk to a counselor at Hiatt to help keep you focused on your goals.
