Merit Scholarships

Apply by February 6, 2012

BIMA is offering two $1000 merit scholarships - one for dance and one for choral music - to applicants who have demonstrated excellence in their arts discipline, as well as leadership and initiative in their school, synagogue, and/or community.

Genesis is offering two $1000 merit scholarships for applicants who have demonstrated leadership and initiative in their school, synagogue, and/or community.

To be considered for a merit scholarship, you must submit one or more letter(s) of recommendation (in addition to your full application to BIMA or Genesis) that describe how you demonstrate these qualities.  Please download a recommendation form from our online application system to give to the  person you are asking to write you a recommendation letter.

All program application materials and scholarship recommendation(s) must be received by February 6, 2012 to be considered for the merit scholarship.  Recipients will be notified with their admissions letter in early March 2012.

Please note that the following applicants are NOT eligible for merit scholarship:

  •  Alumni returning for a second summer
  • Recipients of the BGI scholarship for Russian speaking students (you may, however, apply for both scholarships to be considered for both opportunities)
