“I had a fun time, I never thought I would understand theater in the way that I did this summer and I never thought that I could learn more about it but doing improv exercises without using words. I didn't know how much collaboration was important in a ensemble and that's what matters in the end”

"The writing major allows the participants to learn about themselves and their writing. Writers here broaden the depth of their work through the use of writing exercises and exploration of the typically censored. The writing major has proven to be a richly rewarding experience."

Arts Majors
A week at BIMA is a week spent immersed in artistic expression. BIMA participants major in one core area of artistic study:
In your BIMA arts major, you will receive one-on-one instruction from passionate performers and artists who are masters at their disciplines—and who are deeply committed to your artistic growth. You will expand your repertoire and hone your skills with the benefit of their expert guidance. The faculty also draws upon visiting artists and private instructors to further the participants' training.
There will be time to explore your own creative voice and create original works, both as an individual and in collaboration with other participants. As you share your ideas, you will benefit from the valuable support and feedback our faculty and your fellow students have to offer.
