Our Staff


The Office of High School Programs at Brandeis University has a team of year round staff who work to make all of our programs high quality experiences for high school students.

Bradley Solmsen, Director of the Office of High School Programs
Bradley received rabbinic ordination from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion and a masters degree in Jewish Education from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. Bradley has been working with young people in Jewish settings here and in Israel for many years.  Bradley was the director of Genesis for eight years, as well as the director of BIMA since 2007.  He now directs the Brandeis University Office of High School Programs.

Dvora Goodman, Director of Genesis
Dvora has a masters degree in Jewish Communal Service from the Hornstein Program at Brandeis University. Dvora has worked extensively with teenagers in the summer and year-round.  Dvora has been working with Genesis since the summer of 2001 and has worked year round on BIMA and Genesis since 2007.
   
Rachel Happel, Director of BIMA
Rachel earned her MA and MBA from the Hornstein/Heller program at Brandeis University and her BA in Studio Art from Williams College.  She has been working with teens and children for many years in a variety of Jewish educational settings and art programs.  In 2003, Rachel received the Etz Chayim Award from the North American Alliance for Jewish Youth.  Rachel has been working year round with BIMA and Genesis since 2007.
   
Julie Shumofsky Chivo, Program Manager
Julie has a degree in Marketing from Lehigh University and a Master's degree in Jewish Communal Service from the Hornstein Program at Brandeis.  She has been working with the Institute for Informal Jewish Education here at Brandeis since 1999 and with BIMA and Genesis since 2007. 

Shimshon Stü Siegel,  Director of Impact Boston and Coordinator of Online Learning
Shimshon began at Brandeis in summer 2007 as a community educator with BIMA and Genesis. In 2009 he joined the year-round staff, focusing on recruitment and development of new programs.  Shimshon has taught, led services, made art, sermonized and connected with people around the world, across the Jewish spectrum and beyond. He has a Bachelor's in Film from Boston University and a Master's in Hebrew Literature from the Hebrew Union College.

Michael Golitsyn, Program Coordinator
Michael has a degree in Computer Science from Northeastern University and an extensive background in Emergency Medical Services, Dance, and Fitness. Prior to joining the Office of High School Programs, Michael co-founded and ran a medical transportation and emergency medical services company.
