Communications Coordinator

Responsibilities:
The Hadassah-Brandeis Institute (HBI) at Brandeis University is looking for a Communications Coordinator. The person manages publicity for HBI programs, products, and events via print and media channels. S/he holds primary responsibility for developing and expanding the HBI's audiences, producing and editing copy for publicity materials, and evaluating the effectiveness of communications strategies.

Examples of Key Responsibilities: 

- Generates copy for publicity materials for HBI events, for our monthly newsletter, and for new projects. Works closely with academic project leads and with other staff to ensure clarity and consistency of message. Edits copy of communications materials.

- Leads the identifications, evaluation, and expansion of audiences for HBI programs, events, and products, among both academic and lay audiences. Develops specific contacts for each HBI event, each academic program, and each issue of our bi-monthly ezine, 614.

- Manages print publicity for HBI events, including making decisions on appropriate materials and ways to disseminate them. 

Qualifications: 

B.A. required, M.A. preferred. 3-5 years of experience in communications strongly preferred.

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a high level of comfort with technology. Copywriting experience required.

Expertise in Microsoft Office and Google Apps required; familiarity with Constant Contact and database software (Access or Filemaker) preferred.

Some ability to work outside of normal business hours to attend HBI events and meetings is required.
