Communications Coordinator
Position Overview: The Hadassah-Brandeis Institute (HBI) seeks energetic, tech-savvy, self-starter to play key role in essential communications projects. This person reports to the Director of Communications, assisting with PR and marketing campaigns, delivery of communications products, and acting as project manager for specific assignments. Must have excellent written and verbal communications, organizational, and computer skills, and have ability to work independently with careful attention to detail. Familiarity with HTML and graphic design background a plus, artistic eye a necessity. This position works as part of a team on diverse projects in a fast-paced and flexible environment, and the ideal candidate will be comfortable participating in discussions and taking on new challenges with enthusiasm.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Maintain HBI website using university's content management system. Includes writing, editing and posting new content.
Assist Editor of online magazine in uploading new images and content.
Coordinate production of annual calendar project. Includes researching content, establishing relationships with vendors, and securing artwork.
Manage exhibit bookings and calendar project sales; track and report order inquiries and travel schedules.
Perform marketing related tasks for Director of Communications.
Represent the HBI at public programs and community events.
Act as photo archivist for the HBI.
Manage individual administrative projects.
Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Requires 3 to 5 years of related experience in marketing and communications, preferably at nonprofit or in academia.
Excellent organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Ability to work on several projects at one time.
Computer skills required - Word, Excel and Adobe Creative Suite. General knowledge/ experience with web content management software, and willingness to learn.
Excellent relationship building skills.
Team player.
