Click here to apply electronically to the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Please indicate clearly which of our three programs you are applying for: the MBA/ MA or MPP/MA in Jewish Professional Leadership, or the dual MA in Jewish Professional Leadership and Near Eastern and Judaic Studies. Only one application is required to apply for the dual degree programs. The Hornstein application form and material should be submitted through the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and will be shared with the other degree program in order to come to a joint decision.
Excluding Brandeis students and alumni; a $75 fee is required of all on-line applicants, $100 for those submitting paper applications. If applying online, provide credit card information when requested. If mailing an application, securely attach a check or money order, made payable to Brandeis University, to the form. Be sure that your name appears on the check.
Official undergraduate and graduate transcripts from the appropriate college or university registrar are required. Transcripts are only acceptable if sent directly from the school to Brandeis, or if sent by the applicant in a sealed envelope signed across the flap by the registrar.
- Statement of Purpose (required for all degree programs): Please submit a 2- to 3-page statement of purpose that describes your career goals. Discuss experiences that have shaped your interests and commitments and how you hope to address these in your professional career.
- Management Problem Analysis (required for MBA/MA program only): This writing sample is a 2- to 3-page essay that describes a management problem of your choice that you experienced or observed at work, school, or volunteer setting. It should include a brief description of the problem, how the problem was addressed, and offer alternative options for resolution. The Admissions Committee will use the Management Problem Analysis to assess an applicant's analytic ability, problem solving skills, and writing style.
- Writing Sample (required for the MPP/MA and the Hornstein/NEJS MA only): Please submit a paper or other piece of work (3-5 pages, typed, double spaced) that demonstrates your ability to think and write articulately.
