Supplemental community-based Hebrew high schools are among the best ongoing learning opportunities available to Jewish teens. With their wide variety of approaches to learning, comprehensive curricula, knowledgeable teachers and informal learning opportunities community Hebrew high schools are well-positioned to serve the Jewish educational needs of today's youth.

Through its community Hebrew high schools initiative, the IJE will help strengthen the field through:

  1. Grants that support the development of new educational programs, new recruitment efforts and more professional positions, as well as professional development for educators.
  2. Research to define best practices for this field. Findings will help shape the grants process and influence future directions for the field.
  3. Support the growth of the field of community Hebrew high schools by bringing school heads together in conferences to form a professional network and learn from one another's work.
