More than 1,000 members of the Brandeis community gathered on March 31 to celebrate the inauguration of Frederick M. Lawrence as the university’s eighth president.

President Lawrence brings to Brandeis a strong record of academic scholarship and administration, as well as personal ideals and professional accomplishments that reflect the values of Justice Louis Brandeis and the university’s commitment to social justice and social action. He holds a strong commitment to liberal arts education and a clear understanding of and appreciation for Brandeis’ unique character, its Jewish heritage and its mission.

The Brandeis community is enthusiastic about the new era of leadership and eager to be part of Lawrence’s vision for securing Brandeis’ place as an elite, global liberal arts institution.
