Who We Are
DUKE LAW SCHOOL RESEARCH TEAM
During the 2007-2008 academic year, the Schuster Institute had a partnership with an ad hoc research team from the Duke University School of Law. This group came together to conduct legal research into charges, lawsuits, appeals decisions, law review discussions, and other material relating to the sexual harassment of teenagers on the job. The Schuster Institute is now talking with various news organizations about how to disseminate the findings of this investigation, which builds on the research done for our article in Good Housekeeping, "Is Your Daughter Safe At Work"?
We are grateful for the hard work of this team, which included:
Zephyr Teachout, Visiting Assistant Professor of Law at Duke University. She is the former National Director of the Sunlight Foundation, and a frequent Visiting Researcher at the Center for Investigative Journalism in Bosnia-Herzegovenia. Prof. Teachout organized and overaw this research internship, and participated in the research herself.
Jillian M. Harrison, Duke University School of Law (2010), serves on the Duke Bar Association. Before law school, she worked at Murphy, Hesse, Toomey, and Lehane, LLP in Quincy, Ma as a labor and employment paralegal. There she assisted in collective bargaining sessions and arbitrarions, and conducted research on the legal implications of Massachusetts' health care reform law for employers, culminating in a coauthored article in HR Advisor magazine. She graduated summa cum laude from Tufts University in 2006, and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
Toby Coleman, Duke University School of Law (2010). Before law school, he was a newspaper reporter for seven years in New England, West Virginia, and North Carolina, including stints at The (Raleigh, NC) News & Observer and The Charleston Gazette.
