Departure Record (I-94 Card)
![]() |
Upon entering the U.S. all, F, J and H1-B visa holders will be issued a Departure Record Card. This card is more commonly referred to as the I-94 card. Your I-94 card documents your lawful entry to the U.S. This card will be stamped to specify the port at which you arrived into the U.S. It will also specify the date of your entry and the status granted (F-1, J-1, etc.). This small card, is usually stapled to your passport on the opposite page of your entry visa. If the border official fails to staple the card to your passport, we recommend that you do so at a later time. This little card is very important and very expensive to replace. Every time you travel outside the U.S. ailine officials will remove the I-94 card from your passport and submit it to U.S. immigration officials. Every time you enter the U.S., you will be issued a new I-94 card. |
