Hello, first years! My name is Nicky Zamora and I will be one of your international OLs this year. About a year ago, I left my country, Ecuador, for the first time to study at Brandeis as a Wien Scholar. It has been quite a journey so far, and I am excited for all of you to live your own adventure here. Before college, I earned a social innovation certificate in Quito, interned at both a marketing firm and a local hospital, and worked part time in an advertising agency. I love dancing, theater, sculpture and anything related to art, which is why I will be minoring in creativity and art for social transformation. I like spending my free time with family and friends, being outdoors, attending cultural events, exploring new places and reading a good book. See you soon!
Hi y'all! My name is Alessia Stewart, and I'm from Dallas, Texas! My favorite things are traveling, convincing myself that I have the time and/or money to travel, and planning trips that will likely never happen! I will be going abroad to Jordan in the spring and have been studying Arabic for over two years, so please help me practice if you happen to speak it!

Hi everyone and welcome to Brandeis! My name is Gisaldjo Purbollari, but you can call me Gis (I’ll tell you all about how to pronounce it when we finally meet). I am a Wien International Scholar from Albania, currently in my third year here at Brandeis as a computer science major. I have a wide variety of interests and passions: I enjoy playing classical, pop and rock music on the piano, programming, brainstorming major global issues, playing sports, and going out. The thing I enjoy the most, however, is meeting people from different places and backgrounds and people who have different ways of thinking. I believe that sharing with and learning from people different from oneself is a sure way to become part of the global community, as well as grow morally and intellectually as a person. My global journey began when I attended United World Colleges in Mostar, Bosnia-Herzegovina, an International Baccalaureate high school with a strong emphasis on moral values and strong bonds between the members of its community. It is precisely this experience that led to my interest in joining Brandeis. I am looking forward to guiding you in your first steps to becoming global citizens!
