Connect to the Network

iOS

Use the Configuration Assistant Tool to connect your iOS device (iPhone, iPad, etc.) to the eduroam wireless network:

  1. Download the configuration tool for iOS

  2. Once downloaded, the Install Profile process will automatically begin, tap Install

  3. When prompted, enter your Phone Passcode and tap Done

  4. You will receive a warning about installing a certificate on your device, tap Install and then Install again

  5. You will be prompted to Enter Username, supply your Brandeis user name followed by "@brandeis.edu" (username@brandeis.edu) then select Next

  6. You will be prompted to Enter Password, enter your Brandeis password and select Next

  7. You will again be asked to Enter Username and Enter Password (but for a different network), these fields should be left blank, click Next to move on

  8. Once the installation is complete, you will see the screen below and be connected to the eduroam network, tap Done

Manually Connecting your iOS device (iPhone, iPad, etc.) to the Brandeis eduroam wireless network

  1. Open Settings-> Wi-Fi

  2. Select eduroam from the list of available wireless networks

  3. Enter your full username@brandeis.edu email and password, then select Join

  4. iOS will prompt you to accept a certificate. You must tap Accept or Trust (depending on the version of your phone) to continue. You should now be connected to eduroam!

NOTE: You'll also want to forget other Brandeis networks so that you don't connect to them accidentally.

  • Tap Settings, then Wi-Fi.

  • Once connected to brandeis_open, brandeis_guest, or eduroam, click the little blue info circle.

  • Click to Forget this Network

Using the Configuration Assistant Tool to connect OS X to the eduroam wireless network

  1. Click the download link for your version of OS XOnce downloaded, locate the file and double click on it
  1. When prompted to install eduroam, click the Continue button

  2. When prompted to install profile eduroam, click the Continue button

  3. When prompted to Enter settings for the enterprise network "eduroam", supply your Brandeis user name followed by "@brandeis.edu" (username@brandeis.edu) and your password, click the Next button

  4.  When prompted to Enter settings for the enterprise network Hotspot 2.0 Settings, leave all fields empty and click the Install button

  5. The configuration tool will need your OS X user name and password to configure your profile, enter this information and click the OK button

  6. Once the installation is complete, you will be connected to the eduroam network

Manually connecting OS X to the eduroam wireless network

  1. Click on the Wi-Fi icon in the upper right-hand corner of your screen

  2. Select eduroam from the list of available wireless networks

  3. Mac OS will ask for your credentials. Please enter your full username@brandeis.edu email address and password; once your wireless card authenticates, you should be connected

NOTE: You'll also want to forget other Brandeis networks so that you don't connect to them accidentally.

  • Go to System Preferences -> Network -> Advanced

  • Select brandeis_open, brandeis_guest, and brandeis_secure in your list of Preferred Networks (You might not have all three in your list of Preferred Networks)

  • Click the minus sign to forget that network

  • Click OK and Apply

Using the Configuration Assistant Tool to connect your Windows computer to the eduroam wireless network

  1. Click the download link for your version of WindowsOnce downloaded, locate the file and double-click on it

  2. On the Welcome to the eduroam installer screen, click the Next button

  3. You will be informed that this installer will only work properly if you are a member of Brandeis University, click the OK button

  4. When prompted for your User credentials, supply your Brandeis user name followed by "@brandeis.edu" (username@brandeis.edu) and your password, click the Install button

  5. Once the installation is complete, you will be connected to the eduroam network

Manually connecting your Windows computer to the eduroam wireless network

Windows 10

  1. Click on the Wi-Fi icon in your system tray.

  2. Select eduroam from the list of available wireless networks, make sure that the Connect automatically box is checked on and click the Connect button.

  3. Windows will ask for user credentials.  Please enter your user name followed by "@brandeis.edu" (username@brandeis.edu) and your password, then click OK

  4. Windows will ask if you would like to Continue connecting, click the Connect button

  5. At this point, you should be connected to eduroam

Windows 7/8

  1. Click on the Wi-Fi icon in your system tray

  2. Select eduroam from the list of available wireless networks, make sure that the Connect automatically box is checked on and click the Connect button

  3. Windows will ask for user credentials.  Please enter your user name followed by "@brandeis.edu" (username@brandeis.edu) and your password, then click OK; once your wireless card has finished authenticating, you should be connected

  4. If Windows displays a Connection attempt could not be completed alert, please click the Connect button

Connecting your Android device to the Brandeis eduroam wireless network

  1. Open Settings-> Wi-Fi

  2. Select eduroam from the list of available wireless networks

  3. Select MSCHAPv2 for Phase 2 authentication if available

  4. Enter brandeis.edu for Certificate Domain if prompted

  5. Enter Identity, use your full username@brandeis.edu email and password then select join; leave anonymous identity blank

  6. You should now be connected to eduroam
