Students on the program will take the following three courses, tentative syllabi for each course available by clicking on course name:
Students will earn 12 credits and the program may count towards one of the semesters that students need in order to graduate.
How the courses count:
- All of these courses meet the elective requirement for Business as Business Administration courses
- The Social Science distribution requirement will be met
JBS is an intensive and immersive experience and students should expect to be engaged in learning four to five days a week for most of the day.
The summer will be divided into two sessions, with the first two courses (Real Estate Finance and Real Estate Development) taking place in June and the third course (Field Projects) running in July.

1-2 courses each week from 2-4 p.m.
15-20 hours of fieldwork each week.
This course will immerse students in the field to apply what they learned in the two classroom-based courses during the first half of the JBS Real Estate Development & Investment Program. Specifically, teams of four or five students will work on a consulting project for a developer, or assist the instructor in researching and writing an original real estate case study that will include the students as co-authors/ research assistants. The case study will be used in Brandeis undergraduate and IBS courses.
