A film report by Alan Hart for the BBC. A close-up portrait of one of last century's outstanding women and an illustrated account of the dramatic events in which she has been a leading protagonist. Narrated mostly by Meir herself, the film utilizes early stills and film footage of the Yishuv and the State of Israel and conveys Meir's own special strength of character and style: that curious combination of grandmotherly humanity and hard-nosed realism that has made her a legend in her own time.
