NCJF in the News
Dear Friend,
Since 1976, The National Center for Jewish Film has rescued and revived films that document the diversity and vibrancy of Jewish life.
The Center's collection of 14,000 reels of film is the world's largest outside of Israel. NCJF's priority is the preservation of endangered films with artistic and educational value. To date, NCJF has restored 100 "orphan" films, including 43 Yiddish and silent feature films and scores of rare cinema treasures. These films are screened worldwide and are key elements in hundreds of documentaries and museum exhibitions.
Long recognized as a world leader in the collection and exhibition of Jewish film and culture, NCJF provides programming and research consultation to 5000 artists, educators, curators and organizations each year.
NCJF needs your help. Thousands of films exclusively owned by the Center are in critical need of preservation. Laboratory costs for the film-to-film restoration of 35mm, 16mm, and 8mm film is extremely costly. Without your support, these rapidly deteriorating moving images will fade into history.
Become a "Reel Funder" with as generous a gift as your circumstances permit. Help save these precious documents for future generations.
Consider saving a film in honor or in memory of family and friends.
