Online Teaching Tips
This page offers some basic guidance to faculty interested in exploring existing online teaching tools as one option for continuing their teaching during an emergency where a class may need to be held completely online.
Basic Information
LATTE, our university online instruction environment, is already configured with space dedicated to your course. Even if you haven't used it recently, it's easy to activate your course, add readings and send e-mails to your enrolled students. Some information to get you started:
- Accessing your LATTE courses
- Configure your LATTE courses
- Adding content to your LATTE courses
- Communicating with your students
Advanced Information
Particular tools in LATTE can facilitate online asynchronous communication, or, more simply, let your students communicate in writing no matter where they are and when during the day they write. With some preparation and planning, the Forum tool can allow you to shift in-class conversations entirely online.
